MaryJane DiMarco, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest peacefully at home where she lived since 1958 on Saturday, December 1, 2018. She was 86.
Daughter of the late Jobe and Doris Graham Dangerfield, she was born January 18, 1932 in Beacon, New York. She grew up in the Village of Wappingers Falls and was known to walk to the Academy Theater (now County Players) on the weekend to watch a full day of movies. She married her high school sweetheart, Frederick J. DiMarco, on April 25, 1953 at St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls. Mr. DiMarco preceded her in death on July 22, 2005.
MaryJane worked as a switchboard operator for the telephone company in the village during her younger years and later as a hall monitor at Roy C. Ketcham High School for 20 years before retiring in 1995. She enjoyed cooking, driving her sports cars and vacationing out of the country. She also enjoyed long drives with her husband on the weekend to various gift, candle, and antique shops. MaryJane also had a love for animals and was comforted by her cat in her last days.
Survivors include her son, Paul DiMarco and his wife, Donna of LaGrange and Michael DiMarco and his wife, Connie of Ray City, Georgia; as well as her grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew DiMarco, both of Lindenhurst, New York.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Entombment will be in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9 in Fishkill.
