Michael F. Vaccaro, a resident of Wappingers Falls, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021 at The Pines at Poughkeepsie. He was 89.
He was born July 21, 1932 in Buffalo, New York to the late Michael and Rose Vaccaro. Michael grew up on a large dairy farm in Conesus, New York. He attended school in Livonia and later trained to be a hairstylist. Michael went on to work as the manger of the Beauty Salon at Sample Department Store in Cheektowaga. After ten years of service, he was presented with a beautiful gold watch by his employers, Michael Molfese and Mr. Bunis. Michael later returned to the farm and helped with chores.
Michael loved music. He taught himself to play the organ and he was very good. Michael also enjoyed taking pictures and filled many albums. After his parents passed away, Michael moved to Wappingers Falls and lived with his brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Iona.
Michael is survived by two sisters-in-law, Iona Vaccaro and Arlene Vaccaro as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by his brothers, James, Franklin and Paul.
Family and friends will gather for a memorial service on at 12 noon on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.
