She was born in Omaha, Nebraska on October 15, 1949, daughter of the late James Richard and Ruth Irene McKain. She grew up in Omaha and married Roger Eddy on August 10, 1968. After briefly living in Germany and in the Chicago area, Mary and Roger settled in Wappingers Falls in 1974.

She was an avid and competitive bridge player, both with friend groups and in tournaments. She loved to entertain and was known for making delicious appetizers or as she called them, ‘the meal before the meal’. She was also a Deacon and long-time faithful member of New Hackensack Reformed Church, where she enjoyed playing in the handbell choir for many years.

Family and friends will gather at New Hackensack Reformed Church in Wappingers Falls for a visitation at 2:00 pm on Sunday April 16, 2023 with a memorial service at 3:00 pm; a light supper will follow. Interment will be held at a later date.
