Obituary of Marieanne P. Verano

Marieanne Padra Verano (née Ciulla) of Wappingers Falls, born on October 4, 1957, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, joy, and connection that touched everyone who knew her.

Marieanne is survived by her devoted husband, Anthony Verano Sr. Their love story began as teenagers living across the street from each other, blossoming into a beautiful marriage of over 40 years filled with love, family, and cherished traditions.

She was the proud mother of Anthony Verano Jr. and his wife, Ashley, who brought joy to her life through their beautiful daughter, Abby. She also cherished her daughter, Christa Verano, and her husband, Michael Flynn, who blessed her with their precious daughter, Kaylee. Marieanne lovingly embraced her role as Grandma to Kaylee and Abby, bringing endless love and warmth to their lives.

Marieanne was a wonderful woman who left a lasting impact on many—from her extended family to her children’s friends, who often called her their second mother. She cultivated deep friendships, including an online community of friends she first connected with over 20 years ago on Martha Stewart’s website. She spoke with them daily, sharing stories of her life and the family she adored.

A dedicated psychiatric nurse, Marieanne embodied kindness and understanding in all her interactions. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her profession and was most evident in her love for her family.

She found joy in cooking for her loved ones, sharing beautiful flower and vegetable gardens with her husband, and creating memorable holiday celebrations filled with warmth and love.

Marieanne’s warmth, compassion, and strength will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Marieanne’s name to Hudson Valley Hospice, honoring her life of care and compassion.
