Anita M. Van Slambrouck, a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie, entered into rest Monday, March 10, 2025 at her home. She was 84.

Daughter of the late ­­­­­­­­­­­­­Aimo and Aili Rimmi, she was born December 25, 1940 in Kingston, New York.  She married the Richard Van Slambrouck on November 28, 1964. Mr. Van Slambrouck preceded her in death on March 2, 2025.

Prior to having children, she worked at IBM in Poughkeepsie, where she met her future husband. After her children were back in school, she also worked as an administrative assistant in real estate.  She was active in St. Mary’s Parish in Wappingers Falls and volunteered with many parish activities.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Gatz and her husband, Bill of Cutchogue, New York; her son, David Van Slambrouck and his wife, Awilda of Clermont, Florida; and her grandchildren, Thomas, Amanda, Emily, Claire, and Katherine.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Mary’s Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls following at 12 noon.  Interment will then follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Wappingers Falls.
