Karen Yanarella passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 15, 2025 after a two year long battle with cancer. She was born in Queens to Robert and Rita Kiefer in 1962.  She leaves behind her husband John Yanarella, and two children, Jess and Julia. She also was step-mom to Jennifer, John and Jamey, and grandmother to Presley, Rebecca, Sofia, Andrew and Fiona. Karen was pre-deceased by her mother, Rita and her sister Lorraine. She spent 43 years as a dedicated Verizon employee until she was forced into an early retirement.  She will be greatly missed.  A quiet family gathering of remembrance will be held per her wishes.
