Obituary of Ann T. Joyce

Ann Joyce of Wappingers Falls, NY passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Saturday, March 15, 2025. She was the daughter of Patrick Joyce and Mary (Deane) Joyce. 

Ann graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1977. Her long career in nursing started at St. Joe's followed by White Plains Hospital then several years in the island of St. Croix, where she worked in the OR at the community hospital.  On her days off she enjoyed her second love, the sun and the beach. She returned to the states several years later to work at the Hudson Valley VA Medical Center. This was followed by a career working for White Glove Community Care taking care of pediatric home care cases. She truly loved taking care of patients.  

She volunteered at St. Columba, teaching CCD for many years. She made it fun by playing Jeopardy (her religious version) and her students loved it. 

When Ann came to family gatherings, you knew she had arrived.  She was always full of energy. She was the one wearing the bunny ears at Easter and Santa hat with lights at Christmas. 

She always spoke her mind, letting you know what she thought especially about the state of the world. She loved entertaining her nieces and nephews, telling them scary stories about one eyed Jack and one armed Willie. Always remembering their birthdays and holidays, she lavished them with too many gifts and toys. Ann will be greatly missed. 

Survivors include her siblings, Maureen Kennedy (Peter) of Wappingers Falls, Betty Lee (John) of East Fishkill, Barbara Boyle (Tom) of Wappingers Falls and Dennis Joyce (Tara) of Macedon, NY; and many nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and grand nephews. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at St. Mary’s Church, 11 Clinton Street in Wappinger Falls.
