Obituary of Rhonda Foy

Rhonda Lee Foy passed away on April 10, 2025, in Poughkeepsie, New York, at the age of 63. She was born on September 25, 1961, in Plattsburgh, New York. She was a resident of Wappingers Falls for over 40 years. Rhonda was the daughter of Ronald and Esther Covey. Rhonda graduated from Beekmantown High School in Plattsburgh. She dedicated her professional life to public service as a Correction Officer at Downstate Correctional Facility. Her career reflected her steadfast commitment to hard work and responsibility—qualities that defined her both professionally and personally.

She is remembered with deep love by her husband, Curtis Raymond Foy, married on May 26, and their two daughters, Audrey and Brittany Foy. Rhonda leaves behind her sister, Deborah Pelech, brother-in-law Tom Pelech, and two nephews, Aaron and Ryan Landry; as well as a host of in-laws, Donald Foy, Jean Foy, and Bernard Foy, and nieces and nephews, from her husband’s side of the family. 

Those who knew Rhonda will remember her for her generosity, compassion, and unwavering devotion as a mother. Her presence brought warmth and strength to those around her.

Family will receive their friends on Wednesday, April 16th from 4 to 6 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street in Wappingers Falls. 

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 17th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9 in Fishkill.
