What a blessing it was to visit Chenihiv many years back, before Svitlana and Anatoliy’s daughter Tatyana joined St.Gregory Church. I can now understand how difficult it was for them to leave this charming peaceful historic town with its amazing ancient churches.
Anatoliy and Svitlana were not here in America long enough to make it fully their home before God called them to our true Home. They are together again, and we will miss them, for even after a brief time we connected through their infectious joy and stories.
Thank you, Tatyana and Jon for bringing them here where we were blessed with their friendship. We pray for a blameless and peaceful end to our life here, which God granted them. In this time of Pascha, of Christ’s Resurrection, we proclaim with joy: Christ is Risen!

Your mama was an amazing woman, and I feel privileged to have known her.
Since I shared my childhood with Tatyana—growing up in the same town of Chernihiv and even attending the same School No. 27—Svitlana Vasylivna was more than just my friend’s mother to me.
We lived in the same neighborhood, and our families knew each other well. My sister Natalya was also close friends with her.
She was a beautiful, kind person—always warm, cheerful, and friendly.
Remembering your wonderful mother and wishing you comfort during this time.
