Obituary of Svitlana Vasylivna Starikova

Svitlana Vasylivna Starikova, a resident of Pleasant Valley and formerly of Chernihiv, Ukraine, entered into rest Friday, May 9, 2025. She was 80.

Daughter of the late Vasyliy Osypovych Panchohin and Oryna Kononovna Lytvynenko Panchohina, she was born July 6, 1944 in Sedniv, Chernihiv, Ukraine. On July 19, 1966 she married Anatoliy Starikov. Mr. Starikov preceded her in death on November 18, 2023.

She worked at a factory in Chernihiv prior to her retirement. Svitlana enjoyed gardening in the yard. She treasured time spent in nature, especially walks to the river with her husband.

Survivors include her daughters, Tatyana Starikova Harris and her husband, Jonathan Harris and Olga Starikova and her husband, Alexander Tsyganov and her grandchildren, Sasha Harris and Eugénio Starikov.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Galina Yeremenko and Ivan Pus.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025 at St. Gregory the Theologian Church, 1500 Route 376 in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9 in Fishkill.
