
Obituary of William J. Lucas, IV
William James Lucas IV, 71, of Wappingers Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, with the love and support from his family and friends. Born on June 24, 1953, in Portland, Maine. William was a Nuclear Mechanic at Indian Point Energy Center for almost 40 years, where he was known for his detailed and organized work ethic. He found joy in fishing, often sharing these moments with family and friends. His generous spirit left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He could usually be found tinkering in his garage or watching football - go Giants. He is survived by Jane, his wife of 52 years, sister Roxane, uncles Phillip and Peter (Roberta), aunt Gloria, children William V (Marie), Teresa, Shawn, and Arlene, grandchildren Lucas Pataky, Mia Rogers (Andrew), William VI, Meghann, and Sydney, great-granddaughter Alanah and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, William III and Jane, and his older sister Victoria.
A visitation will be held at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 14, from 4 to 8 pm. A funeral service and military honors will be held at 7:30 pm to end the evening. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Veterans at Tunnels to Towers and/or Wounded Warrior Project, both causes close to his heart. William’s legacy of love for his family, resilience, and hard work will live on in all who knew him.
