Mary “DeeDale” Allocco Bordanaro, age 102, of Middletown, NY, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Fishkill Center for Nursing on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. 

She was a loving wife to Anthony Bordanaro for 57 years. He passed away on May 7, 2002.

Mary was born in New York City on May 23, 1923 to Mary Perno Allocco and Thomas Allocco. She was raised in a very poor tenement in Harlem with her sisters Annie, Irene and Louise. She lost her brother Dominick as an infant. Mary and her sister Annie both worked for DeYoung's Hat Company, where she met her husband Tony. They were married on February 25, 1945.

She is survived by her sons, Robert and his wife, Susan, and Dennis and his wife, Theresa.  Mary dearly loved her grandchildren: Christopher Bordanaro, Stephanie Bordanaro Achord and her husband, Randy, Tiffany Bordanaro Spano and her husband, Justin, and Thomas Bordanaro and his wife, Taryn. Mary was blessed with eight great-grandchildren, whom she adored: Devin, Alexandra and Antonia Achord, Gianna and Antonio Spano, and Giovanni and twins, Carmine and Sophia Bordanaro. She is also survived by her sister, Louise Deluca and many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Services for Mary are as follows:

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 5pm to 8pm at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 10am at St. Mary Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street Fishkill, NY 12524. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9 Fishkill, NY 12524.
