Alberta M. Sedore of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025 at the age of 87.

Alberta was born on December 2, 1937 to Elizabeth V. Clee and Albert Clee in Newburgh, NY. Her driven nature and sharp intellect allowed her to excel academically and professionally. Alberta graduated in 1955 from Mount Saint Mary's High School. Alberta committed her professional career to serving veteran patients, working for nearly 20 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the spinal cord injury ward of Castle Point VA Medical Center. After her retirement, Alberta worked for local political voting services.

In her free time, Alberta enjoyed making memories with her grandchildren and great-grand children, reading mystery novels, doing puzzles, arts and crafts, coffee socials, card games, and spending time with her family. Her family remembers her for her quick wit, kind heart, and commitment to those she loved. Alberta was fiercely determined and independent, carving her own path in life, never letting any circumstances slow her down. She lived a life filled with love, surrounded by her family who adored her.

Alberta is survived by her daughter, Carolyne Baisley (Jay); her son, Anthony J. Sedore; her grandchildren, Brittany Nesheiwat (Alex), Ciara Guarino (Jeremy), Anthony M. Sedore , Vanessa Sedore, and Brandon Sedore; great grand-children Sofia, Eliana, and Julia Nesheiwat; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her grandson, Jay Baisley, Jr., and her sisters Mary A. Cring and Helen Cross.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Straub Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, located at 55 East Main St, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will be held at the close of vistation at 7:45 PM.

Interment will take place on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Cemetery at 11 Clinton St, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
