Frederick W. Lohrfink, of Poughkeepsie NY, passed away peacefully in Rhinebeck NY, on January 7th, 2026. He was 79 years old. Fred, or Butch as he was affectionately known, was born in Yonkers, NY on June 4th, 1946.

Fred was predeceased by his beloved wife Anne, his parents Frederick and Mary (Cooke) Lohrfink, and his daughter, Wendy. His family knows that when he made his final transition, he was welcomed by those whom he missed dearly. He is survived by his daughter, Kristen (Tom), his son Matthew, his sister Mary Lou, his nieces JoAnn and Karen (Greg), and his nephew Ron (Katie), and great nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and many other family members, whom he loved dearly.

Fred held many different jobs throughout his life. He proudly served in the US Army, was a fire fighter, a police officer, and a nuclear mechanic at Indian Point. He took great pride in being a dependable, trustworthy, and honest man, providing for all of those around him. While a quiet man, Fred loved being a part of family gatherings, seeing all of his loved ones together, making life long memories, which included the many dogs that he cherished over the years, providing a safe haven for those four legged creatures he loved so dearly.

Fred’s family would like to express their gratitude for the love and support that they have received during this painful time of loss. As per his wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association or a local animal shelter near you, in his name.
