In Loving Memory of Ramesh S. Mehta
September 8, 1947 – January 10, 2026
With deep love and reverence, we announce the passing of Ramesh S. Mehta, a devoted husband, cherished father, proud grandfather, and gentle soul whose life was a testament to humility, faith, and selfless love.
Ramesh was born on September 8, 1947, in Bombay, India, to the late Sanmukhlal and Subhadraben Mehta.
Ramesh was the devoted husband of Rekha Mehta, with whom he built a life rooted in faith, perseverance, and unconditional support. He was a loving father to his two children who were the pride of his life: his son Amar Mehta and daughter-in-law Jennifer Hsieh, along with their beloved dog Kaia; and his daughter Ami Pascale, son-in-law Joseph Pascale, and treasured grandchildren Savino and Sonia Pascale, who brought endless joy, laughter, and light into his world.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sanmukhlal and Subhadraben Mehta, and by his siblings Suluchona Jagirdar and Ashok Mehta. He is also survived by his brother Yogesh Mehta and many extended family members who loved him dearly. He is also survived by his beloved sister-in-law Nila Mehta.
Ramesh earned a degree in Chemistry in India and began his career as a pharmaceutical sales representative in Mehsana, where he worked for 12 years. In July of 1986, with courage, faith, and a dream of greater opportunity for his children, he moved his family to the United States. After two years in Minnesota, he joined IBM in Poughkeepsie, New York, where his impeccable work ethic and keen eye for operational improvement carried him from manufacturing into the engineering department. He proudly dedicated 25 years to IBM before retiring in 2011.
Quiet, patient, and deeply hardworking, Ramesh embodied the values he lived by. He worked multiple jobs at times, never for recognition, but to ensure stability and opportunity for his family. He was deeply religious, faithful in his prayers, and unwavering in his belief in God. His favorite saying, “Atithi Devo Bhava” – The guest is God, was not just a phrase but a way of life. He taught generosity even in scarcity, kindness without expectation, and humility in all things.
Ramesh was known for his gentle nature, warm heart, and respect for everyone he met. He loved motivational teachings, especially those of Wayne Dyer, and lived by principles of inner peace, gratitude, and service. A true foodie, he delighted in cuisine from all cultures and found joy in the simple pleasures of shared meals, meaningful conversations, and family time.
Above all else, Ramesh loved his family. The sacrifices he made in moving across the world were driven by love, and he took immense pride in the lives his children built. Becoming a grandfather was one of the greatest blessings of his life — his grandchildren were his sunshine, his laughter, and his constant source of happiness.
Ramesh Mehta leaves behind a legacy of devotion, quiet strength, spiritual grounding, and unconditional love. His presence was gentle, but his impact is immeasurable. He will be deeply missed and forever carried in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
