Steve J. Sottile, a forty-eight year resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie, entered into rest Friday, March 27, 2026 at his home. He was 81.

Son of the late Vincent and Jennie Troy Sottile, he was born January 1, 1945 in Brooklyn. On October 4, 1969 he married the former Linda Bruno in Queens. Mrs. Sottile survives at home. Steve proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1971. Prior to his retirement in 1993, he worked as a Logic Engineer with IBM for thirty plus years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Dana Torres of Charlotte, NC, Steven Sottile and his wife, Jenna of Harrison, Danielle Gent-Brown and her husband, Kevin of Poughkeepsie, and Robert Sottile and his wife, Martha of the Bronx; his grandchildren, Zachary, Chad (Savannah), Christian (Jaeden), Zoey, Braiden, Ryan, Kaylee, Hunter, Cassidy, Miranda, Kyle, Lexie, Johnny and Patrick; his great-grandchildren, Jayce, Zayne, Stella and Ronan; his sister, Camille; brothers, Edward (Deborah), Vincent (Sue) and Frank (Maria); several nieces and nephews; as well as his beloved poodle, Bianca.  

Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. during the visitation.
