Joseph Colletti Obituary
Joseph Colletti, a twenty year resident of Wappingers Falls and formerly of Spring Valley and the Bronx, entered into rest Saturday, March 28, 2026 at his home. He was 94.
Son of the late Bernardo and Nicolina Colletti, he was born December 2, 1931 in the Bronx. Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1954 with two bronze stars. He married the former Joan Martin on May 26, 1956 in the Bronx. Mrs. Colletti survives at home in Wappingers Falls.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a linotype operator and then in quality control for Bowne Printing in New Jersey. He was a member of the VFW where he also served as chaplain and the DAV. Joseph was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls.
In addition to his wife of over sixty years, he is survived by his children, Joanne Folkers and her husband, Eric, Julie Holmsen and her husband, Robert, Jean Caridi and her husband, Michael, Joseph Colletti and his wife, Leanne, Jill Ficarotta and her husband, John, John Colletti and Jennifer Pizappi and her husband, Joseph; his brother, Bernard Colletti and his wife, Mary; his sister, Lucille LaGala; his grandchildren, Nicholas Folkers (Briana Bayersdorfer), Robert Folkers, Lauren Folkers, Chris Holmsen (Cindy), Carl Holmsen (Karen), Robert Holmsen (Emily), Jillian Holmsen, Jamie Ayers (Michael), Jenna Panzarino (Matthew), Jessi Dalton (Christopher), Michael Colletti, Sydney Ficarotta, Dylan Ficarotta, Casey Pizappi, Christopher Pizappi (Chrissie), and Jimmy Pizappi; his great-grandchildren, Julia, Kierstin, Katey, Chris, Jr., Emma and Izzy, Brynn and Rhys, Brooks and Chase, Matthew, Raelynn and Austin, and Christopher. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1 at St. Mary’s Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
