Megan Irene Davis of Poughkeepsie, NY, 43, passed away in her home.

Born in Poughkeepsie on May 23, 1982, Megan lived her early years in Hopewell Junction and Fishkill. She attended Our Lady of Lourdes High School and later studied political science at The College of Saint Rose in Albany.

The eldest of four daughters, Megan was a deeply devoted sister and keystone of the family. She walked every path first, clearing the way for her siblings and proving that the greatest strength isn’t found in silence, but in the joyful, unwavering way she carried us all. She had a special ability to make people feel valued, always ready with a genuine compliment and a helping hand.

Having a naturally creative and intelligent mind she had a passion for writing and loved music and films.  She cherished special moments and found joy in revisiting memories, often retelling funny or meaningful stories with warmth and detail.

Megan is survived by her mother Denise Kopasz and stepfather, Andrew Kopasz of Eastham, MA, her sisters Melyssa Graham of New York NY, Mary Davis of San Francisco CA, and Mallory Davis of Fishkill NY, her nephew and niece Van and Vida Graham, aunts and uncles Terri and Phil Levitch, Tom and Sue Taft, Alfred Taft, Paul and Tracey Taft, Laura and Jack Zorn, Barbara and John Peck, Robert and Dolores Taft, and Greg and Jane Davis, along with many loving cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Kevin Davis and grandparents Peggy and Thomas Taft and Marjorie and Arthur Davis.

She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Meep, who was her constant companion and comfort.

She will be remembered for her kindness, her thoughtfulness, her striking red hair, and the way she made people feel seen and appreciated. She is deeply loved, and her absence will be felt by many.

A private family service will be held, and a memorial garden created in her memory.
