Patricia A. Schmitt Obituary

Patricia A. Schmitt, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Sunday, May 10, 2026 at her home. She was 83.

Daughter of the late Kenneth and Edna Palmer Lukens, she was born October 15, 1942 in Jamaica Plains, New York. On October 1, 1966 at New Hackensack Reformed Church in Wappingers Falls she married Lee Anton Schmitt. Mr. Schmitt survives at home.

Patricia had a strong faith in God and loved to serve her Savior. She helped to run a food pantry for those in need and opened her home to anyone who needed a little help where she was affectionately known as Schmitty. She was a member of The Gathering at Faith Assembly.

She enjoyed the outdoors, especially walking her dog Brinkley around Lake Oniad seeing the swans. She also loved to take photos of flowers she found beautiful.

In addition to her husband, Lee Schmitt, she is survived by her children, Kimberly Schmitt and Derek Schmitt; her sister, Sandra King; and several nieces and nephews.

No formal services are planned.
