Jay D. Parker passed away unexpectedly on June 7, 2026.

He was born on April 1, 1956 in Catskill, NY to Margaret Elizabeth Parker and Ferris S. Parker. He spent his early childhood in Tannersville, NY, where he started school at Hunter Tannersville Central. He moved to Highland NY and graduated from Highland High School.

Jay worked at Verizon for thirty five years, holding various positions throughout his career. Known for his quick wit, warmth, and easy charm, he had a gift for making people laugh and feel at ease. Wherever he went, Jay formed lasting friendships; his presence could truly light up a room. Family meant everything to Jay. He was passionate about many things, but nothing was more important to him than his family. He was a devoted husband and father. He found great joy on the golf course and was a loyal fan of the Mets, Giants, and, of course, the Knicks.

Jay is survived by his wife Gina, children Rachel and Justin, brother Jeff (Chris), sister Jacquelyn (Dale), nieces and nephews, cousins and the many many friends who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his parents, grandparents and nephew, Demian Singleton.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, New York. A funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. to conclude the evening.
