William (Bill) Pennington passed away August 8, 2026 at home. He was born April 7, 1934 to Fred and Lillian (Parks) Pennington in Sparta, Michigan. Bill is survived by his daughters, Terry of Huntingtown, MD and Tracy of Ventura, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat and his son, Kyle.

Upon graduation from high school, Bill enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving 14 months in Korea. One year before graduating from Michigan State University, Bill married Patricia Newman, who passed away March 14, 2020 after over 58 years of marriage.

After graduation, Bill began working for IBM. That he did for the next 30 years, beginning in Kingston, NY and ending in Poughkeepsie, and including years in Chicago, Tampa and Fort Wayne, IN. After his retirement from IBM, Bill worked for Marist College for seven years until finally ending his working days.

In his lengthy retirement, Bill enjoyed traveling to foreign lands, often accompanied by his daughters, Terry and Tracy and his son, Kyle. He also enjoyed softball and tennis until his bones got too brittle; he then settled for "bridge" and enjoyed that.
