Joseph P. Williams
Joseph P. Williams of the Town of Poughkeepsie passed away suddenly on Wednesday August 31, 2005. He was 63.
Son of Joseph and Caroline Barry Williams, he was born on April 26, 1942 in Poughkeepsie. He wed his loving wife Lynne Thompson on April 20, 1968 in Lachine, Quebec, Canada. They remained happily married for almost 40 years.
Joseph was a Wappingers Central Schools graduate, Class of 1959. He obtained a Bachelors of Science Degree from McGill University in 1965. Shortly after graduation he entered the United States Army, dutifully serving his country from 1966 to 1968. He then went on to work for IBM in Poughkeepsie for 28 years until his retirement in 1993.
Joe was a loving and devoted family man and he will be sorely missed.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife Lynne, at home in Poughkeepsie; his son Barry Williams and his wife, Christin of Vestal; and his daughter Kelly Bosaz and her husband, Nino of Poughkeepsie. He was also the proud "Grandpa Joe" to Samantha Bosaz and Delaney Williams, his two precious granddaughters whom he adored.
Family will receive their friends on Saturday, September 3, 2005 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Greenbaum and Gilhooley's, 1379 Route 9 in Wappingers Falls, to join in celebration of Joseph's life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lighthouse International, 1101 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, in Joseph's name.
