Umberto Albert Capparelli of Wappingers Falls passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 73.

Son of the late Vincenzo and Rosina Regina Capparelli, he was born on August 5, 1950 in Altomonte, Italy. He emigrated to America with his family when he was a young teenager and settled in New Rochelle. He later moved to Wappingers Falls. He married Gina Romeo, also from Altomonte, Italy. They were married for 42 years and both are long time residents of Wappingers Falls; Mrs. Capparelli survives at home.

Umberto was a hard worker and business owner. He enjoyed talking to people. He was a very handy man. Umberto simply loved his wife's cooking.

In addition to his wife, Gina, Umberto leaves behind his children, Francesca (her spouse Joseph and their two kids Lorenzo and Giancarlo), Paolo (his wife Andrea, their two kids Kali and Luca), and Stella. He was proud of his kids and grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St. Martin dePorres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Road in Poughkeepsie. Entombment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
