Obituary of Thomas Dalton Loughran

Thomas Dalton Loughran Thomas Dalton Loughran, a resident of the Town of Wappinger, entered into rest Tuesday, May 19, 2009 in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was 61. Son of the late Matthew Charles and Ida Dalton Loughran, he was born April 28, 1948 in Brooklyn. He married the love of his life, the former Vivien A. Dunn on July 13, 1969 at St. Jude's Church, Brooklyn. Mrs. Loughran survives at home in Wappingers Falls. Thomas worked for Con Edison for forty years, where he was a Commercial Service Representative. He was also a Licensed Electrician and a Court Officer for the Village of Wappingers Falls. Tom enjoyed the water; he was an avid boatsman and a certified scuba diver. He liked motorcycles and owned a few Harley Davidsons. He had a deep appreciation of his Irish Heritage, especially Irish Music. Most important to him was his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his wife Vivien A. Loughran; he is survived by his five sons, Thomas D. Loughran, Jr. and his wife, Susan of New Paltz, Bryan J. Loughran, Adam S. Loughran, Shawn P. Loughran and his wife, Jennette and Eric J. Loughran all of Wappingers Falls; his grandchildren, Megan Rose, Brendan Thomas and Steven; his mother-in-law, Vivien M. Dunn; his brothers-in-law, Thomas, Roy and James Dunn; his sisters-in-law, Barbara DeVito and Margaret Turner; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Charles Loughran. Family will receive their friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2009 at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Saturday, May 23 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls.
