Helen T. D'Amicantonio
Helen T. D'Amicantonio, a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie, entered into rest, Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Wingate at Dutchess. She was 80.
Daughter of the late Robert and Anne Padden Barry, she was born August 5, 1929 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. She married Louis J. D'Amicantonio. Mr. D'Amicantonio preceded her in death on February 26, 2007.
After raising her family, Helen enjoyed being a Docent at Locust Grove, the Samuel F.B. Morse Historic Site in Poughkeepsie. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls.
She is survived by her children, Ellen Braren and her husband, Mark of Tillson, A. John D'Amicantonio of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Thomas D'Amicantonio and his wife, Christine of Poughkeepsie, and Michael D'Amicantonio and his wife, Patricia of Poughkeepsie; her brother, Robert Barry, Jr. of Pennsylvania; her sisters, Mary Bambery and Frances Cornell both of Pennsylvania; her grandchildren, Michael, Megan, Matthew, Alyssa, Ryan, Nicholas and Samantha; her great-grandchildren, Reid, Quinn and Madison; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Joan Grant and great-grandson, Michael.
Family will receive their friends on Friday, September 18, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappinger Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Saturday, September 19 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls.
Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
