Obituary of Michael V. Papesca
Michael V. Papesca
Michael Vincent Papesca entered into rest Friday, September 10, 2010 at home in Wappingers Falls. He was 28.
Son of Michael F. Papesca and Josephine Sidote Papesca, he was born on April 16, 1982. He was a life long resident of Wappingers Falls.
Michael grew up loving sports. He played Pop Warner Football for the Giants; they were the first Pop Warner team to play in an NFL Stadium, Giants Stadium. This was the most exciting time in Michael's life, along with the road trips he took with the team to Pennsylvania each year. He also played for Town of Wappinger Little League and the Beacon Bulldogs JV team, until an injury ended his sports career.
Michael's friends always knew him as a happy person. They always talked how he loved to joke and was quick with a comeback. He loved the time he spent with his niece, Shaun Marie. He also enjoyed playing with his two Pomeranians outside of his family home. Michael's favorite pastime was using the computer and X-Box; sometimes he'd be up all night, laughing all the while. A family statement reads, "We believe he led a life that he wanted and he is in God's hands along side his brother, looking down and smiling."
Survivors include his beloved parents of Wappingers Falls; his brother, Dominic at home; his niece, Shaun Marie; Aunt Donna, who helped him through many obstacles; great-niece, Madelyn Giana; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his favorite dogs, PomPom and Suki.
He was predeceased by his brother Jason Michael Papesca on October 27, 2005.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
