Obituary of Williamina Stradling

Williamina "Ina" Stradling Williamina "Ina" Stradling, a resident of the Town of Wappinger, entered into rest Saturday, December 25, 2010 at Elant at Fishkill. She was 99. Daughter of the late William and Mary Finlayson Begg, she was born June 26, 1911 in the Bronx. She married the love of her life James C. Stradling on January 7, 1933 at the Eastchester Presbyterian Church in the Bronx. Mr. Stradling preceded her in death on August 16, 2008. Ina worked for American Bank Note in the Bronx until she had children and later went on to work for the Presbyterian Church, Riverside Drive in the Bronx retiring in 1976. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wappingers Falls where she was active in the Women's Morning Fellowship and Bible Study. Ina enjoyed all that was her home, cooking and baking as well as crocheting. Most important to her was her family; she will be missed by all. Survivors include her daughters, Ina Jane Sannicandro of Sherman, CT, Katherine Stradling Zuccarelli and her husband, Louis of Hopewell Junction and Florence Colarusso and her husband, Robert of Hopewell Junction; her grandchildren, Fredric James, Richard Anthony and Christopher John Sannicandro, Kerianne Fanelli, Joseph James and John Thomas Ferrari and Robert Scott, Stephen A. and Katherine Lynn Colarusso; her great-grandchildren, Jamie, Stephen and Justin Sannicandro, Kyra, Emma and Grace Fanelli, Mason and Freya Ferrari and Shawn and Alexander Colarusso and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her four sisters, Margaret, Mary, Christine, and Isabella; her brother, Graham and her son-in-law, Fred Sannicandro. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main St., Wappingers Falls, NY, 12590. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 2568 South Avenue, Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9, Fishkill. Memorial donations may be made in Ina's name to First Presbyterian Church, 2568 South Avenue, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 or to a favorite charity.
