Obituary of Margaret Giannotti

Margaret Giannotti Margaret Giannotti, 95, formerly of Yonkers, and for the last 7 years of Poughkeepsie, died on July 11, 2011, at Lutheran Care Center in Poughkeepsie. Margaret was born in Yonkers, New York on January 17, 1916 to Antoinette and Michael Altamuro. She was educated in Yonkers schools. On October 12, 1940, she wed the love of her life, Leonard Giannotti, who predeceased her on June 8, 2004. Together they raised four children. She is survived by her children: Robert and his wife, Mary; Leonard and his wife, Debra; her daughter, Ann Marie; and Ronald and his wife, Gail. Her grandchildren, Leonard, Lisa, Tammi, Robert, Dana, Jennifer and Briana. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Straub Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 70 Park Hill Avenue, Yonkers, New York. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum, Hartsdale, New York. Memorial donations in Margaret's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
