Obituary of Patricia M. Hynes

Patricia M. Hynes Patricia M. Hynes of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 71. Daughter of the late Patrick and Bridget Egan O'Rourke, she was born on April 15, 1940 in New York City. She married the love of her life, Thomas P. Hynes on September 22, 1962 at Ascension Church in Manhattan; Mr. Hynes survives at home in Wappingers Falls. Mrs. Hynes worked most recently as an assistant manager at Rite Aid in Wappingers Falls. She was also a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. Most importantly, she loved her family; she was a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband, Thomas, she is survived by her children, Patricia Haran and her husband, Kevin of Hurley, Thomas R. Hynes of Wappingers Falls, Christine Moroney and her husband, Tim of Wappingers Falls, and Tara Hynes Toth of Wappingers Falls; brothers, James and Joseph O'Rourke; and grandchildren, Michael Haran, and Ryan, John and Katie Moroney. She was predeceased by her son, Michael Hynes; brothers, Thomas and John O'Rourke; sister, Mary Zaino and grandson, Nicholas Toth. Family and friends will receive their friends on Sunday, August 7 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, August 8 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
