Obituary of Judith M. Janos

Judith M. Janos of the Town of Poughkeepsie entered into rest Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 59. Daughter of Natalie Baker Leary and the late Attorney Daniel Leary, she was born on June 10, 1952 in Milton, Massachusetts. She married the love of her life, Jeffrey Janos on January 27, 1973 in Milton, MA; Mr. Janos survives at home in Poughkeepsie. Judi worked as Assistant to the Advertising Director for the Poughkeepsie Journal for many years. In addition to her husband, Jeff, she is survived by her mother, Natalie Leary of Milton, MA; children, Stacey Janos and Jeffrey Janos, Jr., at home in Poughkeepsie; brothers, Daniel F. Leary, Jr., Edward B. Leary, Christopher G. Leary and Scott M. Leary; sister, Patricia B. Leary; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, Daniel, she was predeceased by her brother, Richard K. Leary. Family will receive friends on Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, September 26 at 10 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Church, Cedar Valley Road in Poughkeepsie. Entombment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, Poughkeepsie. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Judi's name to the Foundation for Vassar Brothers Medical Center for Dyson Cancer Center, 45 Reade Place, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
