So very sorry to learn of the loss of your Mom, but feel you were fortunate to have had her so long. And what a wonderful obit; shows she had a good life and probably came closer to breaking even in this life than many others. Best wishes - Karl Jessen

When I think of my Mother the first and most important thing I always remember is her capacity for unconditional love . Through the good times and the bad she had unwavering love and complete forgiveness for any shortcomings of her children or their loved ones . Simple things in life brought her the most pleasure , as long as she was surrounded by family or good friends . She was always delighted to have an excuse for a good laugh , and was in general just a happy person and a joy to be around. Honesty and sincerity were strong virtues of hers , but she could always be trusted to keep an airtight secret , if it was important to someone . She mellowed like fine wine , and was a mother who you could discuss anything with . ( although you had to be ready to accept an honest opinion from her , like it or not. )
She was the pillar that her family revolved around . I am so grateful that my sons have the sweet memories they have of her . ( children always felt comfortable with Mom ---) I only hope I can leave my own children with the loving , comforting memories that Vera has hers -----
R.I.P. Mommy ---- I love you
Anne

It was with great sorrow that we learned of
Vera's death. She was a wonderful person to have known for many years. Our sons grew up and developed close friendships with Vera's boys as well.
The beautifully written obituary describes her much better than anything we can say at this sad time.
Sincerest condolences to the family.

Bill, though I never had the privilege of meeting your mom, I feel as though I know her through the way you and Lorna have honored her, in the way you have led your lives, and through the lives of your children and grandchildren. She left a remarkable legacy in the extraordinary family that she raised and inspired. What a beautiful lady! Connie

Mom, how I appreciated all the love you showed to my sweet Alexandra. She always knew you would be there in my absence and I always knew that she was safe while I was working or in school. We love you and would have loved to have you nearer to us so we could have seen you more often. My grandchildren will always know you because we plan to keep your memory alive.

My grandmother taught me about truth, tenacity and strength. Gracefully, she did it her way. Her home was the congregating place for our family. A place of fellowship, laughter and perfect joy. In her final days it once again became a place for all of us to come again in grief but also to fill with joy, song and laughter. You will be missed and my prayer is that we will continue to honor the legacy you have left.

Mom... We've spent more time together over the past few years that we have since I left home in 1961. I'm going to miss our regular trips to the supermarket, lunches together, birthday parties with my grandchildren, the occasional visit to the doctor, the occasional arguement over some past happening (you usually won because your memory was always better than mine)and all the rest.
But most of all,I miss you - already. Love... Bill

For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
