I first met Victoria on November 29th, 1993 when she came into my shop to request a sign for her home. After only a few minutes I knew she was a special human being and I wanted to make her personalized sign in the worst way! In order to get the full impact of who she was, she invited me to visit her home. I was greeted enthusiastically by several scotties and a couple of cats and knew that I was in the presence of a kindrid animal lover. Her passion for her archival work was apparant when she showed me her shop and the boxes and boxes of stuff she was currently working on. She had just recently fenced in her yard and invited me back to swim in her pool. She loved her home and was always gracious and kind. I'm sorry I did not know she was still ill when she called me recently to ask for a "Private" sign as someone had just walked in her home while she was upstairs and gave her a good scare. I hope her furry companions find a good home to loving owners. Rest in peace, Victoria, you're now in the house of the Lord.

There are no words to express the grief I feel over the news of Victoria's passing. She was a kind, generous, idealistic spirit who I had the good fortune to call her my friend. We shared trips to grad school and a hotel room each week one semester. The times we spent together attending conferences, working on projects or just visiting were filled with thoughtful conversation. There is so much I appreciated about her. I loved her like an older sister and her loss is a profound one in my life. My condolences to her family. Rest in Peace, my friend.

Victoria was a wonderfully warm and giving person. She brought her southern charm to this often, very cold, region. She was a pleasure to work with on the Cider Mill. She will be greatly missed.
