Obituary of Louise H. Fridkis
Louise H. Fridkis, a resident of the Town of Fishkill, entered into rest Monday, February 20, 2012 at her home. She was 89.
Daughter of the late Charles A. and Anna L. Camack Hubner, she was born November 26, 1922 in Wappingers Falls. On October 23, 1943 at Zion Episcopal Church in Wappingers Falls, she married her high school sweetheart, Alexander F. Fridkis. Mr. Fridkis survives at home.
Louise was a 1940 graduate of Wappingers Falls High School and went on to graduate from Vassar Brothers School of Nursing in 1943. She worked as a nurse at Vassar Brothers Hospital and Southern Dutchess Nursing Home and also as a school nurse for the Wappingers Central School District. Louise was a member of Zion Episcopal Church in Wappingers Falls and was a former member of the Lafayette Rebecca Lodge.
In addition to her husband of sixty-eight years, she is survived by her daughters, Anne Kite and Roger Vaillancourt of Poughkeepsie and Barbara Andujar and her husband, Curtis of Beacon; her four grandchildren, Aaron Andujar and his wife, Kimmy, Benjamin and Alexa Andujar and Adrienne Johannes and her husband, Phill; and her great-granddaughter, Ava.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the family plot in Wappingers Rural Cemetery, West Main Street, Wappingers Falls.
The family would like to thank Dr. Edward Schneider and his staff, Hospice and their staff and Jennifer Senior and Marcia Luciano for all of the kindness, compassion and care given to Louise.
