Obituary of Vera Zukowski

Vera Zukowski, a resident of Poughkeepsie, entered into rest Friday, April 27, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 82. Daughter of the late Roman and Julia Marko Perepechko, she was born September 9, 1929 in Brooklyn. She married Alexander Zukowski on June 4, 1950 in Brooklyn. Mr. Zuklowski preceded her in death on October 12, 1991. Prior to her retirement, Vera worked as a teacher in the Yonkers School System. She was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Theologian Orthodox Church in Wappingers Falls. Survivors include her daughters, Sandra and Claudia and her husband, Robert; as well as her grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Kevin and Alena. Family will receive friends Monday April 30, 2012 from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Gregory Orthodox Church, 1500 Route 376, Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in the family plot in Mount Hope Cemetery, Jackson Avenue, Hastings-on-Hudson.
