Obituary of Henry G. Gardiner

Henry Gardiner Henry Gardiner of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Sunday, February 19, 2006 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 67. Son of the late Henry G. and Ella Gardiner, he was born on December 19, 1938 in Peekskill. Henry attended Peekskill High School. He then went on to work for Daniele's Auto Body in Pleasantville; he worked there for 45 years until his retirement. When he wasn't working, he especially enjoyed bowling. He was also a bowling mentor, teaching many young children how to bowl. Henry was also an avid car lover and he was always giving a helping hand to his friends, neighbors and family. Survivors include his wife, Pamela Gardiner of Wappingers Falls; his children, Sallie Anselmo and her husband, Ron of Clinton Corners, Robert Gardiner of Wappingers Falls and Joanna Zammiello and her husband, Anthony of Poughkeepsie; his former wife, Marie Leo of Poughkeepsie; his siblings, Densil Bolis and her husband, Michael, Ethel Mosher, Sharon Hann and Harold Gardiner; grandchildren, Ronnie, Joshua, Caressa, Jordan, Matthew and Brooke; his great-granddaughter, Hailey; and several nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his son, Henry Gardiner, who passed on June 13, 1987 and his brother, Lester Gardiner. Family will receive their friends on Wednesday, February 22 from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, February 23 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Straub Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will be held Thursday evening during visitation at 8 p.m. with Bishop Anthony Leo officiating.
