Obituary of Carol Ann Kuhns

Carol Ann Kuhns, a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie since August of 1959, entered into rest Thursday, July 26, 2012 at The Pines at Poughkeepsie. She was 82. Daughter of the late Thomas A. and Olive Brill Gaffney, she was born November 21, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On March 1, 1951 in St. Sebastian's Church in Milwaukee, she married Dorcie L. Kuhns. Mr. Kuhns survives at home. Carol Ann was a 1952 graduate of Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls and had taught CCD classes in the 1960s and 1970s. While her daughters were in school, Carol Ann was very active in the Mother's Guild of St. Mary's School in Wappingers Falls. She was most importantly, a devoted wife, caring mother and doting grandmother. She dedicated her life to her home and family. Her family meant everything to her and she meant everything to her family. In addition to her husband of sixty-one years, she is survived by her four daughters, Mary Carol Kuhns and her partner, David Maserjian of the Town of Poughkeepsie, Susan Marie Grundon and her partner, Dan Crandell of the Town of Poughkeepsie, Catherine Ann Crum and her husband Frank of Cooperstown and Amy Jayne Noble and her husband, Tim of Watertown; her brother, Thomas Gaffney of Wisconsin; her eight grandchildren; her six great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Jayne Good and brother, Jay Gaffney. Funeral services will be private. Entombment will be in the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Avenue, Poughkeepsie.
