Obituary of MaryAnn Donofrio

MaryAnn "Nana" Donofrio, a fifteen year resident of Poughquag and formerly of Larchmont, NY entered into rest Tuesday, August 14, 2012 surrounded by her family at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 72. Daughter of the late Mary Defeo and Anthony Pompi, she was born January 21, 1940 in New Rochelle where she grew up. In 1975, MaryAnn married Ralph Donofrio in Mamaroneck. Mr. Donofrio survives at home in Poughquag. MaryAnn was a devoted wife, beloved mother grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to take care of her home and family. She was "Nana" to everyone. She had a strong faith and devotion to Mary, the Mother of God, saying her rosary daily. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, MaryLynnValis and her husband, George of Beekman and Michael Libertino and his wife, June of Poughquag; her grandchildren, Daniel Valis and his wife, Jennifer, Matthew Valis, Krista McGuire and her husband, Ryan, SaraMarie Valis, Jessica Libertino and Anna Libertino; her great-grandchild, Jameson McGuire; dogs, Lady Donofrio, Maxi Libertino, Maggie Valis, Zoey Libertino, and Toby Valis; cat, crazy Ashes and Leo the bird. Family will receive friends on Saturday, August 18, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Gregory Orthodox Church, 1500 Route 376, Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons Street, East Syracuse, NY 13057.
