First and foremost my heartful condolences to Kathy's Family.
Kathy was a special lady with a heart of gold. She could put a smile on your face when you were down and out and would always listen if you needed to talk. She loved going to the Chinese Buffet which we often did monthly. I will miss her but I know she's in a better place. RIP my friend.

Kathe and I did not see each other often once my family moved from New York, but I always felt like we had a special bond and connection that did not diminish over time or space. When I was little I called her "the cloud," and she was this fun amazing person I would just gravitate to. I thank God that I was able to see her again dancing and happy at my wedding in June. I will cherish that memory forever, and never forget my Cloud.

I had the honor to be the closest of friends with Kathy and knew her as only a close friend can. We spent hours together sharing about our trials and tribulations, past and present. She was incredible. I knew her as a woman who had the utmost courage dealing with life's hardships and a woman who provided great loving care and support to those who were less fortunate. I knew her love of literature, of cooking a good meal for friends and her love for her cats. Most of all, I will remember her sharing with me about all the good people in her life. She told me about her Aunt, Uncle and cousins from Monroe from which she felt cherished and loved. She told me about her dear friend Judy, now living in West Virginia, who made her feel as though she was the most special person in her life. She told me about her friend Bob who she shared so much fun and laughter with as well as receiving much needed support from. She told me about her friend, Shaune, who also happened to be her supervisor, being by her side through the most difficult times in her life. She told me about a man at DDSO's Human Resources who advocated for her throughout the years and she felt tremendously supported by. She told me about neighbors and co-workers who provided much loving time and support to her especially during the past year. I know that she had a very large support network of people who spent time with her throughout the years, too many to mention all, but she told me about John and Kat who were especially supportive to her.
My life will be forever touched and enriched by knowing Kathy for the incredibly wonderful person that she was and for her sharing with me about all of these good people in her life. As my heart aches, I am envisioning Kathy as now being reunited with her dearest of dear friends, her friend that she affectionately calls Bluebird.
Love you, Kathy, with all my heart and soul,
Holly
