Obituary of Antonio Creanza

Antonio Creanza, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Monday, April 22, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was born in the Bronx, New York to Angela and the late Donatangelo Creanza. Tony was a parishioner of St. Martin de Porres Church in Poughkeepsie. In his younger years, he was in a band with his friends, The Racing Times, where he played the bass. He continued his love of music and played the piano, the keyboard and the guitar. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and daughter, especially to Cape Cod. He enjoyed the outdoors and often took his wife and daughter on hikes. However nothing was more important to him than his daughter, Sofia. They have a truly special relationship. They could be often found in the garage building things together. They constructed a doll house, bird houses, airplanes for science projects and most recently an elaborate set up exploring aspects of food science. In addition to his wife, Marta, and his mother, Angela, survivors include his beloved daughter, Sofia; his sisters, Rosa Creanza and her husband, George Konefal and Orsola Acosta and her husband, Jose; his mother-in-law, Sylvia Tynan and her husband, Thomas; his nieces and nephews, Anastasia and Severin Konefal and Nina and Jonah Acosta; and also his numerous friends. Family will receive their friends on Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be offered on at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18 at St. Martin de Porres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie.
