Obituary of Denise A. Maher

Denise Anne McLaughlin Maher passed away unexpectedly at her home in Hyde Park, NY on Friday, April 26. Denise was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 23, 1947 to William and Winifred McLaughlin. She attended Erasmus High School in Brooklyn. In 1969 she married Daniel Maher and shortly thereafter left her job with Diner's Club to become a fulltime wife, mother and homemaker. She loved to bake, read, entertain friends and family, and most importantly, spend time with her grandchildren whom she adored. Her three children Shannon Maher of Ulster County, Brendan Maher and his wife Nicole of Brookfield, CT and Siobhan Maher and her husband Jason Thurston of Wappinger Falls, NY survive her as does her former husband Daniel Maher of Broad Channel, NY. Denise leaves behind five proud grandchildren: Zarrah and Damian Maher of Key Largo, Fl and Kathleen, Danielle and Derrick Porter of Wappinger Falls, NY. She is survived by a brother, Terrance McLaughlin of Brooklyn, NY. Her sister Kathy McLaughlin and brother Joseph McLaughlin predeceased her. A family service will be held at a time and place to be determined by her family.
