Obituary of Martin F. Bailey

Martin F. "Mickey" Bailey, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Putnam Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Holmes. He was 75. Son of the late Elizabeth Pape Bailey Krut, he was born October 30, 1939 in Hempstead, New York. He married the former Virginia Klose on April 28, 1962; Mrs. Bailey survives at home. Mickey proudly served in the United States Naval Reserves and was honorably discharged in 1970. Prior to his retirement, Mickey worked as a Mechanical Engineer at IBM for thirty-two years. He enjoyed flying and was a licensed private pilot. He was a member of the Grasshopper Flying Club and the Aeronca Flying Club for many years. In addition to his wife of fifty-three years, he is survived by his sons, Michael Bailey and his wife, Katrina and Martin Bailey, Jr. and his wife, Lisa; his siblings, Jack Krut, Doug Krut, Mary Goodmok and Tom Krut; his grandchildren, Emily, Christopher and Matthew; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Beverly Bailey and brother, Jimmy Krut. Family will receive friends on Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 4 at St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow at St, Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
