Obituary of Amy Taylor-Wright

Amy Taylor-Wright of Hyde Park entered into rest Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 47. Daughter of Bertha Taylor Sessions and the late William Sessions, she was born on April 9, 1966 in Aliceville, Alabama. She married John E. Wright, Sr. on June 23, 1990 in Wappingers Falls; Mr. Wright survives at home. Amy graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School and attended Dutchess County Community College. Most recently, she worked as a cashier for Walmart in Fishkill. In her spare time, Amy enjoyed reading and crocheting. She also had a passion for braiding hair and cooking for her family. In addition to her husband, John, and her mother, Bertha, she is survived by her children, John E. Wright, Jr. (Mercedes Wright) of Hyde Park, Jonisha Wright (Matt Gilleo) of Hyde Park, Myhisha Wright (Andy Brown) of Poughkeepsie, and Niquan Wright, Delvonte Wright (Alyssa Fusaro), Zaniyah Wright (Justice Dyer), Amy Wright, Tionna Wright and Savannah Wright, all of Hyde Park; her sister, Patricia Sessions (Steven Petrocine) of Wappingers Falls; grandchildren, Destyni, John III, Sianna, Tatiana and Nicholas; nephews, Eric and Elijah; niece, Madeleine; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Family will receive their friends on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A brief visitation will be held on Friday, May 10 from 10 to 11 a.m. with a funeral service at 11 a.m., at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1200 Main Street in Fishkill, officiated by Pastor Kevin Furman of Family Community Church. Interment will take place in Wappingers Rural Cemetery, Route 9D in Wappingers Falls.
