Obituary of Helen M. O'Connor

Helen M. O'Connor of Rutland, Vermont and formerly of Wappingers Falls, NY, entered into rest Saturday, May 4, 2013 with her family by her side. She was 92. Daughter of the late John and Ellie Bannon McCord, she was born on May 29, 1920 in Manhattan. She married Timothy J. O'Connor on July 4, 1942 in Rego Park, Queens; Mr. O'Connor preceded her in death, passing on October 18, 1995. Helen was a classy, energetic woman who enjoyed dancing, music, and attending Broadway productions. She worked at Ford Instruments during WWII followed by Hartford Insurance Company as a clerk. Survivors include her son, Timothy O'Connor and his wife Pamela, of Mendon, VT; along with 3 grandchildren, their spouses and 2 great-grandchildren; her sister, Lilly Manion; nephew Bill Manion and family; her niece, Barbara Dunagan and family. Helen enjoyed many years of activities at Mountain View Center and, if you wish, you may send a donation in lieu of flowers to the Activities Program at Mountain View Center, Attention: Candy Fox, 9 Haywood Ave., Rutland, VT 05701.
