Obituary of Emese Maria Tasnady

Emese Maria "Meshy" Tasnady, 65, of New Hamburg, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, surrounded by her loving family. Meshy was born in Plattling, Germany on October 16, 1949, the daughter of Ferenc and Edith Tasnady. She was a graduate of Roy C. Ketcham High School and SUNY Albany. Meshy retired from IBM in 2010. After retirement, she volunteered at Mount Alvernia Retreat Center in Wappingers Falls. Meshy is survived by her mother, Edith Tasnady Forgo and her sister, Kathleen Tasnady at home; her brother, Karol Tasnady and his wife, Mary Jo of Poughkeepsie; her loving niece and nephew, Erin Tasnady and Ferenc Tasnady; as well as grand-nieces, Layne and Landry Tasnady. Meshy was a kind and loving person and will be missed dearly, not only by her family, but her many friends. Calling hours will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls, A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 21 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Wappingers Falls. Memorial donations may be made in Meshy's name to Mount Alvernia Retreat Center, PO Box 858, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
