Obituary of Mario Ecker

Mario Ecker, a forty-nine year resident of Poughkeepsie and formerly of Cinnaminson, New Jersey, entered into rest Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 83. Son of the late Pedro Ecker and Mildred Sabareaux Cuarino, he was born November 17, 1929 in Colon, Panama. He married the former Carolyn Juanita Duckett on January 19, 1953. Mrs. Ecker preceded him in death on June 24, 2002. Mario served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953. He retired from IBM in 1991 after twenty-seven years of service. He is survived by his six children, Richard Ecker and his wife, Gail of Poughkeepsie, Ronald Ecker and his wife, Susan of Manassas, Virginia, Randal Ecker of Crozet, Virginia, Rebecca Fluri of Wappingers Falls, Roberto Ecker and his wife, Kim of Simsbury, Connecticut, and Rodger Ecker and his wife, Celia of Patterson; as well as ten grandchildren.
