Obituary of Robert Jon Husted

Robert Jon Husted, a resident of New Paltz, passed suddenly from this life on Monday, September 9, 2013. Son of the late Paul and Marjorie Phillips Husted of Hughsonville, he was born September 1, 1940. He attended Wappingers Central School. He served his country in the Army National Guard of New York and was honorably discharged in 1968. Prior to her retirement in 1993, Bob worked at IBM for thirty-three years. He was an avid outdoorsman; enjoying hiking, backpacking, biking and kayaking. Bob found great delight in his family and longtime friends. He is survived by his daughter, Kari Ellen Faustman and her husband, Major Robert Faustman, USAF of Columbus, Mississippi; his grandchildren, Caroline, Katie and Robby Faustman all of Columbus, Mississippi; his brother, Jerry Husted and his wife, Mimi of Poughkeepsie; his three nieces, Kristen Marino of Poughkeepsie, Katie Smith and her husband, Keith of Poughkeepsie and Elizabeth Husted of Providence, Rhode Island; and two great-nieces and two great-nephews. Bob will be honored at a memorial service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the Hughsonville Presbyterian Church, Route 9D, Hughsonville to which family, friends and acquaintances are invited to attend. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
