Obituary of Henry P. Trofinoff
Henry P. Trofinoff, a 35 year resident of Beacon, and 8 year resident of Lake Worth, Florida, entered into rest on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 77. Originally from Manhattan, NY, he is the son of the late Eva Barbara & Harry Trofinoff. His wife of 39 years, Gloria Ruggiero, predeceased him in 2005.
Hank is a 1954 graduate of George Westinghouse High School, after which began his career as an electrician. He was employed by Bulova where he met his wife, Gloria. Hank continued with his education in Electrical Engineering which led to employment at IBM in East Fishkill and Plasmaco in Highland. Hank was a member of The Polish American Club in Lake Worth and The Order of the Sons of Italy, Beacon. He was a founding member and on the Board of Trustees for the Mount Beacon Incline Railway Restoration Society. Hank coached for several years in the Beacon Soccer League. In his spare time he enjoyed painting, drawing, swimming, tennis and golf. His positive attitude and love of life will be missed.
In addition to his loving wife, Hank was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Fred; sisters, Helen and Mildred; and nephew John.
Hank is survived by his children, daughter, Barbara Trofinoff and husband, Tom Wilson of Manhattan; sons, Mike and wife Lori of Mine Hill, NJ; Danny & wife Meredith of Stallings, NC; Stephen of Lugano, Switzerland; grandchildren Alexander, Cameron, and Luke Trofinoff and Jessica and Mark Trofinoff. His is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Johnson, Westford, NY; and his mother in law, Antonette Ruggiero, Hazleton, PA; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family will receive friends on Monday, September 16, 2013 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Willow Street, Beacon.
