Obituary of Jean E. Gordon

Jean was born on January 19, 1941 in Buff Bay, Jamaica, WI to Joseph and Gertrude Gordon (nee Grant). She, her mother and her brother Jeff remained in Jamaica while her dad came to the US to study medicine. She and her mother later Joined him in Brooklyn where she finished high school and college (Hunter). After earning an MS in Health Science she worked as a senior lab technician in bacteriology and microbiology in the Boston, Ma area. She retired early due to her health and returned to the family home in Brooklyn where she remained until her mother's death in 2007. She then moved to Manhattan where she lived with her aunt Mavis Moses (nee Gordon). As her health deteriorated she moved to Wappingers Falls in March of this year to be under the supervision of her cousin Winston Gordon Wakefield. She touched hearts with her genuine interest in others along with her quiet but determined disposition. She loved to read the Bible and always marked her place with mail in an envelope which she never discarded. She is survived by her brother Jeff, his daughter and many relatives here and in Jamaica.
