Obituary of Theresa A. Considine

Theresa A. Considine of Wappingers Falls entered into rest on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at home surrounded by her family. She was 86. Daughter of the late Manus and Ann Kelly O'Donnell, she was born on January 23, 1927 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. She married Francis A. Considine on October 4, 1952; Mr. Considine survives at home. Mrs. Considine was a graduate of Coughlin High School in Wilkes-Barre, PA. After graduation, she attended Wyoming Seminary Business School. She worked in the accounts payable department of Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union in Poughkeepsie until her retirement in 1993. In her spare time, Theresa enjoyed ceramics with her friends and traveled extensively with her husband. Theresa's life was all about her family. She enjoyed hosting holiday meals and spending time with family and friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed their laughter and smiles! Always there to lend a hand or a smile, Theresa was a kind and generous person loved by all who knew her. She was also a communicant of St. Martin de Porres Church in Poughkeepsie. In addition to her husband, Francis, she is survived by her children, Karen Kirk (Edmund) of Bayside, Queens, Mary Theresa O'Halloran (William) of Staten Island, Nancy Terwilliger (Douglas) of Wappingers Falls, Patricia Lamb of Guilford, CT, Francis A. Considine, III (Margaret) of Charlotte, NC, and Michael Considine (Michel) of Hyde Park; grandchildren, Caroline Considine, Meghan and Kathleen O'Halloran, Sarah Lamb, Sean, Matthew and Daniel Considine, Audrey Terwilliger, and Cate and Mary Frances Kirk; great-grandchildren, Bryan and Patrick O'Neal; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Manus O'Donnell, Joseph O'Donnell, William O'Donnell, Mary Brennan and Helen Barrett. Family will receive their friends on Friday, December 27, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Church, 122 Cedar Valley Road in Poughkeepsie. Interment will follow in Wappingers Rural Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
