Obituary of Sharon R. Henry

Sharon Henry, 62, of Wappingers Falls passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Ms. Henry was born in South Fallsburg, NY on September 28, 1951 to Helen and Alan Podwill. Ms. Henry graduated from Mount Saint Mary College with a bachelor's degree. She worked as a dedicated office manager for over 20 years. Sharon was a diehard Yankee fan. She also enjoyed time spent at the ocean. Her greatest love was her friends and family; her children and grandchildren were her heart. Survivors include her two sons, David Henry Jr. and Dwayne Henry; her six grandchildren, David III, Dwayne Jr., Izabella, Xavier, Steven and Nasjir Henry; her siblings, Loren Podwill and his spouse, Jill Russell, Elise Podwill and Elliot Podwill; her second mother, Celia Sagar; ex-husband, David Henry, Sr. and his siblings, Jean Henry, Adele Henry, Diane Harris, JoAnn McKinney and Anthony Henry; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Ms. Henry was predeceased by her brother, Mark Podwill. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street in Wappingers Falls. A funeral service for close friends and family will be held on Saturday, January 18 at 11 a.m. at Vineyard Community Church, 609 Route 82 in Hopewell Junction.
